ultrasound preparation and finishing of subgingival margins – well shaped and non traumatic

crown prep tips – optimal control and ergonomics, thanks to the unique ultrasound movement.
The peculiar tipholder’s shape produces an elliptic tip movement and allows an optimal view on the preparation field. The ultrasound vibrations preserve the soft tissues. Thanks to the tipholder flexibility different crown prep tips can be used.

Step 1

After initial preparation with a bur, the cervical margin is rough but not yet positioned under the visible gingiva margin. A retraction cord is placed and the re-positioning of the margin can start.
It is recommended that the crown prep tips have the same diameter of the bur used for the initial preparation. The D90 diamond coated crown prep tip will be used first as it is more aggressive and removes remaining enamel and dental material faster. The D60 diamond coated crown prep tip will follow for final smoothing and polishing.

Step 2

The crown prep tip needs to be moved lightly back and forth, always keeping  the contact with the tooth. No trauma nor bleeding will be caused by touching the gingival margin. The cervical margin can therefore be re-positioned subgingivally thanks to the crown prep tip D90, while the D60 is used for a better finishing of the surface. The special shape and the unique tip movement enable the user to work all around the tooth without changing position.

Step 3

After the smoothing and polishing with the D60 diamond coated crown prep tip the surface will show a smooth microstructure. The cervical margin obtained is extremely precise and this allows the operator to take an impression of a better quality: the dental restoration perfect adaptation and longer life span are guaranteed.
